A meeting of the Working Group on improving the procedure for customs operations in respect of express cargo and international mail in the Eurasian Economic Union was held on September 19 under the chairmanship of Grigor Oganyan, Deputy Director of the Department for Customs Legislation and Law Enforcement Practice of the Eurasian Economic Commission.
The Working Group meeting was attended by representatives of public authorities and the business community, including postal operators and express carriers.
The experts considered some issues related to further unification of the rules for filling in the declaration for express cargoes, as proposed by the Republic of Kazakhstan. Besides, the proposals of Kazakhstani business to specify separate information for currency control and Russian business to expand the cases when goods can be declared using such a simplified declaration were approved.
The passenger customs declaration for express cargo and the goods declaration for express cargo are simplified customs declarations used in declaring express cargo.
Express cargo means goods transported within the framework of high-speed transportation by any type of transport using the electronic information system for arranging and monitoring transportation to deliver these goods to the recipient in accordance with the individual consignment note within the minimum possible and (or) fixed period of time, except for goods sent in international mail.
