R&D works

The Research Plan of the Eurasian Economic Commission for the year 2012 and planning period of 2013-2014 approved by the order of the Chairman of the Eurasian Economiс Commission Board No. 281 dd. September 25, 2012 (hereinafter referred to as the Research Plan) provides for four researches to be carried out by the Statistics Department.

Three tenders were carried out in accordance with the Research Plan of the Statistics Department.

1. Open tender for the research for the needs of Eurasian Economic Commission (hereinafter referred to as the Research) on the subject of "The study of differences in the methodology of forming basic macroeconomic indicators and working out of recommendations for switching to the uniform methodology of forming basic macroeconomic indicators in the Single Economic Space countries" - was held on April 15, 2013.

The purpose of the work consists in elaboration of the systematized list of differences in national methodologies of forming statistical indicators and recommendations for switching to the uniform methodology of forming statistical indicators by the Customs Union and Single Economic Space (hereinafter referred to as the CU and SES) countries with regard to macroeconomic statistics.

Obtainment of harmonized methdology of forming macroindicators worked out with due account for international recommendations will allow to receive comparable characteristics of integration process development and more precise analysis thereof in the context of international comparisons.

The Federal state self-contained higher professional education institution "The National Research University "Higher School of Economics" was declared successful tenderer. The work shall be completed by the end of 2013.

2. Two-stage open tender for the Research on the subject of "Working out of methodic and practical recommendations for forming of uniform statistical classifications for the Single Economic Space countries" - was held on February 22, 2013.

The purpose of the work consists in determination of the degree of harmonization of classifications valid in the national statistical practice of the CU and SES countries with international analogues and elaboration of uniform methodological approaches on introduction and practical use of uniform statistical classifiers by the CU and SES countries.

It refers to the classifiers of types of economic activities, products and services.

The Federal state self-contained higher professional education institution "The National Research University "Higher School of Economics" was declared successful tenderer. The work shall be carried out in two stages and shall be completed by July 1, 2014.

3. Open tender for the Research on the subject of "Working out of methodic fundamentals and creation of statistical classifier for calculation of generalized indicators or external and mutual trade of the Customs Union and Single Economic Space countries by major groups of goods (investment, intermediate and consumer goods)" - was held on June 18, 2013.

The purpose of the work consists in creation of the statistical classifier enabling calculation of generalized indicators of external and mutual trade between CU and SES countries by groups of goods depending on the objective thereof based on the Foreign Economic Activity Goods Nomenclature of the CU.

Application of the classifier shall allow to carry out in-depth analysis of foreign trade activity of CU and SES countries including that in conjunction with industrial production indicators.

The educational institution "Belarus State Economic University" was declared successful tenderer. The work is to be completed in October, 2013.

Moreover, open tender for the Research on the subject of "Study of statistical data collection and processing system for the mutual trade in the Customs Union and Single Economic Space countries, preparation of proposals for improvement thereof with due account for international experience (including that of the European Union countries)" was declared on July 9, 2013.

The purpose of the work consists in the study of statistical data collection and processing system for the mutual trade in the CU and SES countries, preparation of proposals for harmonization and improvement thereof.
