Biography

Almaz Zamirbekovich Sazbakov was born on October 29, 1981 in the city of Frunze (the Kyrgyz Republic).

In 2002, he graduated from the American University in Kyrgyzstan. In 2007, he completed training under the JICA program of the Faculty of Economics, Hitotsubashi University (Tokyo, Japan). In August 2010, he completed his studies at the National Graduate Institute for Policy Studies in Tokyo (Japan). In December 2013, he competed training program in public policy at the George Mason University (USA).

He started his career in 2004 in the Industry Department of the National Statistical Committee of the Kyrgyz Republic. From 2006, he worked in the Department of Local Budget Estimation of the Ministry of Finance of the Kyrgyz Republic. From 2008, he headed the Investment Promotion Section of the Investment Policy Department of the Ministry of Economy of the Kyrgyz Republic.

In 2011, he worked in the Strategic Analysis Section of the Presidential Administration of the Kyrgyz Republic. In 2012, he was Head of the Investment Policy and Public Private Partnership Department of the Ministry of Economy of the Kyrgyz Republic.

From 2013, he was Head of the Strategic Planning Department of the Ministry of Economy of the Kyrgyz Republic.

From 2014, he was Director of the Investment Promotion Agency under the Ministry of Economy of the Kyrgyz Republic.

From 2016 to 2018, he held the position of Deputy Minister of Economy of the Kyrgyz Republic.

Over the last three years, he has been Special Representative of the Government of the Kyrgyz Republic in the EAEU.

On June 1, 2021, he was appointed Director of the Domestic Markets Operation Department of the Eurasian Economic Commission.
