Zero rate continues to apply to internal combustion engines
The Members of the Eurasian Economic Commission (EEC) Council extended the term of validity of zero import customs duty rate charged on certain types of internal combustion engines, approved the Procedure for interaction between the States of the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU) and the EEC on the issues of eliminating restrictive measures in trade with third parties, agreed adaptation of import customs duty rates “for industrial assembly” to the obligations of the Russian Federation in the WTO, approved “road maps” for the implementation of agreements with China and Iran and adopted a decision ensuring continuous implementation of the fur product labeling project.

Experience of the Eurasian Economic Union reflected in the most important WCO documents
The developments of the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU) are included for the first time in the new edition of the Framework Standards for Security and Facilitation of International Trade, and some of the documents included in them are published by the World Customs Organization (WCO). Framework standards are the most important international document in the field of customs, a generally recognized reference point for the world customs administrations.

EEC appointed minister in charge of technical regulation and minister in charge of industry and agriculture
By a decision of the Heads of States of the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU) new members of the Boardof the Eurasian Economic Commission (EEC) have been appointed: Viktor Vladimirovich Nazarenko – the EEC Minister in charge of Technical Regulation, and Alexander Mikhailovich Subbotin – the EEC Minister in charge of Industry and Agriculture.

Tigran Sargsyan: "Deep integration of economies of EAEU countries should be improved taking into account world trend for protectionism"
The Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU) is moving along the path of deep integration, and this integration model should be improved taking into account world trends in which one can see elements of increased protectionism. This was stated by the Chairman of the Board of the Eurasian Economic Commission (EEC) Tigran Sargsyan during the discussion "Modern integration agenda of the APR: openness or protectionism. Lessons for the EAEU" held within the framework of the Eastern Economic Forum in Vladivostok on September 12.

Developing infrastructure of the Far East is of great importance for EAEU countries
Effective functioning of the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU) is impossible without the development of transport, infrastructure and logistics. Emil Kaikiyev, Member of the Board – Minister in charge of Energy and Infrastructure of the Eurasian Economic Commission (EEC), emphasized this at the IV Eastern Economic Forum speaking during the session "Russia-Japan Partnership: implementing the Euro-Asian transit potential".

Agreement on trade and economic cooperation between the EAEU and the PRC to enter into force in early 2019

EEC approved a number of documents for operation of common drug market
The issues of energy, technical regulation, pharmaceuticals and trade were considered at the meeting of the Board of the Eurasian Economic Commission (EEC) on September 7. In particular, the EEC Board approved a number of documents for the operation of the common drug market as well as the Protocol on the Common Electric Power Market of the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU).

EEC experts held consultations for Kyrgyz businesses
The White Paper on competition on the transboundary markets of the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU) was presented on September 6 by the specialists of the Eurasian Economic Commission (EEC) Competition and Antitrust Regulatory Unit within the offsite meeting of the public reception office in Bishkek (the Kyrgyz Republic). This publication is a reference book for the business community working on the EAEU’s transboundary markets. The publication in an accessible form explains the legal basis for the protection of competition on the Union’s single markets, the procedure and basis for filing a complaint with the Commission in case of violation of business rights as a result of anticompetitive actions of partners.
