Member of the Board – Minister in charge of Customs Cooperation of the Eurasian Economic Commission (EEC) Nurlan Akmatov and Secretary General of the World Customs Organization (WCO) Kunio Mikuriya discussed in Brussels (Belgium) the issues of improving customs regulation, trade facilitation in accordance with international standards and best practices of customs administration as well as prospects for the Eurasian integration in the customs sphere.

Belarus has started to issue e-Passports for vehicles
A number of automakers of the Republic of Belarus such as MAZ (Minsk Automobile Plant), Unison and Belgee confirmed their readiness to start manufacturing motor vehicles with e-Passports for their products, including those supplied to the Russian Federation. Nowadays, the first five e-Passports for MAZ, Geely and Zotye vehicles produced in Belarus have been already issued. Thus, the Republic launched practical work on e-Passports.

Long-term lowflation contributes to human wellbeing of the EAEU countries
“In the last few years, the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU) Member States have made significant progress in ensuring macroeconomic stability. Central and national banks have successfully coped with the challenges of stabilization policies in the face of growing uncertainty and increased cross-border effects from commodity price fluctuations. There is a steady trend of decrease and gradual convergence in the Union inflation rates which ultimately has a positive impact on the human wellbeing”, – told Toty Kaliaskarova, Director of Macroeconomic Policy Department, speaking at the round table “Monetary policy in the EAEU: opportunities and coordination limits”. The event organized by the Central Bank of the Republic of Armenia was held on June 27-28 in Dilijan (Armenia).

Regulatory framework for coordinating subsidies has been formed
A condition for applying a certain criterion for the admissibility of specific subsidies in respect of industrial goods recognized as co-produced by the Member States was approved at the meeting of the Eurasian Economic Commission (EEC) Council held on June 21. From now on, the countries of the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU) can apply to the Commission with a view to make their subsidies agreed.

EAEU has agreed on seven areas of support for import substitution in the Member States
“The industrialization map of the Eurasian Economic Union we are developing now will allow us to organize comprehensive work on import substitution at the Union level, unify the national plans for import substitution, build import-substituting production chains at the EAEU level and effectively use each other’s competencies”- stated Alexander Subbotin, Member of the Board - Minister in charge of Industry and Agriculture of the Eurasian Economic Commission (EEC), at the first meeting of the high-level Working group on cooperative integration interaction and import substitution in priority industries, which took place at the EEC Headquarters on July 1.
