This understanding of the business structure role in shaping the current agenda for the Eurasian Economic Union and implementing the Strategy for Developing the Eurasian Integration until 2025 was expressed by Goar Barseghyan, Director of Integration Development Department of the Eurasian Economic Commission, in her speech at the 17th meeting of the Presidium of the EAEU Business Council held on October 1 in Nur-Sultan via videoconferencing.

Active involvement of representatives of the Union countries’ business community in the EEC activities sets a proper standard for solving many issues affecting the interests of the business community as well as influencing the Union’s business and investment climate. Goar Barseghyan has stressed that promoting classic economic freedoms in the EAEU and protecting businesses are the Commission’s key objective as the Union’s governing body. And a keen dialogue with the business community is critically important to accomplish this objective.

"The potential of the business community representatives for participating in the EEC activities, including implementing the Strategy-2025, is very high. It is fundamentally important both for the Commission and the business community to fulfill it in full right now, at the stage of forming new single markets and starting to move in new integration directions", the EEC representative noted.

Goar Barseghyan has informed the meeting attendees on the progress of activities envisaged by the plan for implementing the Strategy-2025 as well as relevant matters on the Commission's agenda in the run-up to the summits of the Heads of State and Prime Ministers of the Eurasian Economic Union countries.

The speech of the Commission’s representative aroused a keen interest and set the stage for a discussion about the business community involvement in implementing the Strategy-2025.

The meeting was attended by Members of the Presidium of the EAEU Business Council - Heads of National Chambers and Associations of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs: Askar Myrzakhmetov, Arsen Kazaryan, Anatoly Kharlap, Danil Ibraev and Alexander Shokhin.
