Arzybek Kozhoshev, "The advantage of the EAEU and CIS countries is infrastructure compatibility"

Arzybek Kozhoshev, Minister in charge of Energy and Infrastructure of the Eurasian Economic Commission, participated in the 44th Coordinating Transport Meeting of the Participating States of the Commonwealth of Independent States. The event was held as part of the Transport of Russia International Forum and Exhibition in Moscow.

Arzybek Kozhoshev noted that this is traditionally one of the key platforms for transportation issues and plays an important role in shaping a common transport space and efficient functioning of transport complexes of the CIS countries. The EEC Minister emphasized that the Commission highly appreciates cooperation with the CIS in the field of transport.

At the same time, he believes that the primary task of the EAEU is to build transport communications jointly on the basis of self-sufficient service infrastructure and sustainable transportation technologies with the following main components: speed, safety, cost and stability.

"The advantage of the Union and CIS countries lies in infrastructural compatibility, cooperation experience and traditions, which, no doubt, can contribute to the establishment of new transit corridors and joint entering into large markets of transportation services," noted the EEC Minister.

The event was attended by heads of transport departments of the CIS countries, who reviewed and discussed a number of joint activities aimed at fruitful development of international transport corridors, infrastructure and modernization of transportation by all modes of transport in the Commonwealth countries.
