On November 20, Arzybek Kozhoshev, EEC Minister in charge of Energy and Infrastructure held a working meeting with Kanat Almagambetov, Director General of the KAZLOGISTICS Union of Transport Workers of Kazakhstan. Rustan Dzhenalinov, Director of the EEC Department of Transport and Infrastructure, also took part in the meeting.
The discussion covered development of road, rail, water and air transport, as well as multimodal transportation with elaboration of proposals to improve their efficiency.
"Combining the EAEU countries' national peculiarities and introducing the best practices of transportation will help achieve a synergetic effect and unlock additional reserves of the transport industry," noted Arzybek Kozhoshev.
The meeting emphasized that one of the key challenges of the time is the creation of a reliable and smoothly operating transport and logistics complex in the Eurasian space, ideally without barriers and technological restrictions.
Arzybek Kozhoshev drew attention to the necessity to unite the potential of the Commission with transport agencies, associations, research organizations and the business community for practical implementation of the transport policy road map of the EAEU countries for 2024–2026 approved at the EAIC meeting on October 1 in Yerevan.
"This document is the main program for comprehensive development of the EAEU transport complex for the specified period, the implementation of which largely determines the balance nature and sustainability of its functioning," said Arzybek Kozhoshev.
The EEC Minister noted the need to create a dialogue platform at the Commission for managers of railway administrations of the EAEU countries for a deeper study of national initiatives and development of relevant proposals.
The meeting resulted in an agreement to continue cooperation aimed at creating a sustainable and efficient EAEU transport system.
