Sergey Sidorskiy and German business discussed prospects of production localization in EAEU
The localization in the territory of the Eurasian Economic Union (EEC) of production of components manufactured by John Deere Deutschland for agricultural machinery was discussed by Sergey Sidorskiy, the Member of the Board (Minister) in charge of Industry and Agroindustrial Complex of the Eurasian Economic Commission (EEC) and Christoph Wigger, the Vice President of John Deere Deutschland, during their meeting. The meeting was held at the plant of the corporation in Mannheim (Germany).

The Chairman of the Board of the Eurasian Economic Commission (EEC) Tigran Sargsyan and the President of the Republic of Moldova Igor Dodon discussed possible increase of the mutual trade and economic cooperation between the Member States of the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU) and the Republic of Moldova, at the meeting held in Chișinău (the Republic of Moldova).

The EAEU countries may take up to 20% of the world market of organic products, whose capacity will exceed 200 billion US dollars by 2020
According to estimates of the Eurasian EconomicCommission (EEC), for crop production, the Member States of the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU) have to annually purchase resources from third countries for more than 2 billion US dollars. Ways to reduce dependence on imports and increase local production, including organic products, were discussed at the round table “innovative technologies in crop production as a factor for increasing the productivity of agriculture of the EAEU Member States,” held on March 30. The event was organised by the EEC Agroindustrial Policy Department.

The EEC advises the Kyrgyz Republic on the application of technical regulations of the Customs Union
The Eurasian Economic Commission (EEC) held, in the Ministry of Economy of the Kyrgyz Republic in Bishkek, a seminar on topical issues of conformity assessment and the use of 18 technical regulations of the Customs Union in the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU). Technical regulations concern such areas as food industry, safety of products intended for children and teenagers, rail transport, furniture, light industry and other industries.

The EEC Minister Tatyana Valovaya: “The EEC is ready to hold an extended dialogue with the United States and the EU for economic cooperation and multiple interaction matters”
Tatyana Valovaya, the Member of the Board – Minister in charge of Integration and Macroeconomic Policy of the Eurasian Economic Commission, met with representatives of foreign businesses. The American Chamber of Commerce in Russia brought together representatives of more than 50 foreign companies and business associations, as well as diplomatic missions, including diplomatic missions of the United States, Finland and Switzerland.

Centralised trade in electric power in the EAEU will be organized using the existing trade platforms of the Union
The project for establishing a common electric power market (CEPM) of the Eurasian Economic Union will be implemented using existing trading platforms of the Integration Association countries. It was agreed by the participants in the 13th session of the special-purpose Subcommittee of the Eurasian Economic Commission (EEC) under the chairmanship of the Director of the EEC Energy Department, Leonid Shenets.

The EEC is seeking an observer status in WP. 29
The Eurasian Economic Commission (EC) will focus on application of UN rules and requirements to vehicles (the Agreement, 1958, the Global Agreement, 1998 and the Agreement on Periodical Technical Inspections, 1997) in development and improvement of technical regulations, rules and standards for the countries of the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU). This was stated by the Director of the Technical Regulation Department of the Eurasian Economic Commission (EEC), Arman Shakkaliev, following the session of the UNECE World Forum for Harmonization of Vehicle Regulations (WP.29).
