Bakytzhan Sagintaev, Chairman of the Board of the Eurasian Economic Commission, spoke about the development of digitalization processes in the Eurasian Economic Union at the plenary session of the Digital Almaty 2025 forum.
As the Head of the EEC Board noted, the Commission's efforts are focused on the implementation of the Digital Union concept.
"Today, the integrated information system of the EAEU functions, being the technological foundation for Digital Union," said Bakytzhan Sagintaev. "Its consistent development leads to the formation of supranational infrastructure. This allows five different systems to be in the same ecosystem."
At the same time, the EAEU continues to adhere to the principles of compatibility, synchronization, and integration, which do not affect the digital sovereignty of the Member States. This makes it possible to connect the best country decisions in digitalization with the possibility of their further scaling.
Already now, technological solutions of the integrated information system ensure seamless interaction of national digital platforms. As a result, cross-border services can be provided in a trusted and secure environment.
The Chairman of the EEC Board emphasized that today interstate electronic G2G, B2G and C2G interaction can be called full-scale. This was made possible by launching a secure data network and ensuring that common processes were put in place step-by-step.
There are 77 common processes approved within the Five countries. Of these, 42 are put into operation. The Commission prepared 24 other common processes for launch. The remaining 11 processes will be prepared before the end of 2025.
For example, the common process of maintaining a unified register of documents confirming product safety requirements has significantly reduced bureaucratic procedures for businesses.
Talking about plus sides for individuals, for example, the employment duration of a citizen of one EAEU country is confirmed electronically in another one.
There is a high demand from the population of the Member States for digitization of other processes and documents. Improving the quality of people's lives is a priority for digitalization in the Union.
Within the framework of the forum, at the Commission's stand, Heads of Government of the EAEU countries gave a start to the operation of the trusted third party service of the Union's integrated information system.
It allows to launch mutual recognition of electronic digital signatures, thereby facilitating cross-border electronic document flow for government agencies, businesses and citizens.
