Bakytzhan Sagintaev, Chairman of the Board of the Eurasian Economic Commission, held negotiations with Nikol Pashinyan, Prime Minister of the Republic of Armenia and Chairman of the Supreme Eurasian Economic Council, on February 12 in Yerevan.
During the meeting the parties discussed the directions outlined in Nikol Pashinyan's recent address to the Heads of the Eurasian Economic Union Member States on the occasion of Armenia's chairmanship in the EAEU governing bodies in 2024.
Bakytzhan Sagintaev informed the Prime Minister of the Republic of Armenia about the Action Plan of the Eurasian Economic Commission for implementing the priorities of the Armenian chairmanship.
The draft Plan was prepared on the basis of the proposals submitted by the Commission's structural subdivisions and envisages the implementation of 16 objectives set out in the Address of the Prime Minister of Armenia. In order to implement them, 57 items have been formed with a deadline of 2024-2026, as well as on an ongoing basis.
In particular, the Commission plans to elaborate jointly with the Member States and submit for approval to the EEC Council a draft roadmap for implementing the Declaration on Further Development of Economic Processes within the EAEU until 2030 and for the period until 2045 "The Eurasian Economic Path".
It is planned to develop proposals on the main approaches and principles, as well as areas of the EAEU energy security.
The measures included in the draft Plan include monitoring of the Member States' self-sufficiency with agricultural products and food, as well as continuation of the Commission's systematic work with the EAEU States on the complete removal of barriers and obstacles having signs of barriers.
In Yerevan, Bakytzhan Sagintaev also held meetings with Vahagn Khachaturyan, President of the Republic of Armenia, and Mher Grigoryan, Vice Prime Minister of the Republic of Armenia and Chairman of the EEC Council.
