EAEU and Egypt discussed prospects for completing negotiations on free trade agreement

Andrey Slepnev, Minister in charge of Trade of the Eurasian Economic Commission, and Ahmed Samir Saleh, recently appointed Minister of Industry and Trade of the Arab Republic of Egypt, held their first meeting in Cairo.

The parties held a detailed discussion on developing trade and economic cooperation. They agreed to intensify negotiations on concluding a free trade agreement.

“Special attention during the meeting was paid to implementing the future document, including the promotion of business contacts, creating cooperative production facilities and other areas of mutual interest,” Andrey Slepnev noted. “We agreed to hold the next round of negotiations in July this year in Moscow.”
