EAEU and Indonesia held fifth round of negotiations on free trade agreement
The fifth round of negotiations to conclude a free trade agreement between the Eurasian Economic Union and the Republic of Indonesia was held in Batu (Republic of Indonesia) on July 22–24.
"At the end of the round, significant progress has been made in harmonizing the text of the future agreement, and further steps necessary for the substantive completion of the negotiation process have been outlined," said Kira Danilcheva, Deputy Section Head of the Trade Policy Department of the Eurasian Economic Commission.
In May 2022, the Supreme Eurasian Economic Council decided to start negotiations with Indonesia. The first, second, third and fourth rounds of negotiations took place in April, July, December 2023 and March 2024, respectively
