The EAEU will consider the possibility of introducing joint measures in regard to the export of certain agricultural products

The Council of the Eurasian Economic Commission instructed the EEC Board to address, jointly with the Member States of the Eurasian Economic Union, proposals for mechanisms to ensure the sustainability of the Member States' domestic markets, including the possibility of introducing joint measures in regard to the export of certain agricultural goods outside the EAEU territory.

To that end, the countries of the Eurasian Economic Union were proposed to submit to the EEC the estimated volumes of annual production and consumption of wheat and meslin, barley, corn, sunflower oil and sugar with the aim of forming the respective balances.

"The EAEU is the largest net exporter of agricultural products and therefore we are safe from deficit of vital goods. At the same time, the introduction of joint non-tariff regulation measures will contribute to stabilizing the price situation in the internal market, which is particularly important in the context of external factors," Andrey Slepnev, EEC Minister in charge of Trade, noted.
