EEC and EAEU Business Council agreed to work together to develop industrial cooperation across Union

New measures to support the real sector, effective interaction between entrepreneurs from the countries of the Eurasian Economic Union aimed at creating new industrial projects topped the agenda of the meeting of the Advisory Council for Interaction Between the Eurasian Economic Commission and the EAEU Business Council in St. Petersburg.


Artak Kamalyan, EEC Minister in charge of Industry and Agriculture, made an extended presentation of the new mechanism adopted for financing industrial cooperation projects in the Union. The EEC Minister detailed the criteria for selecting projects, the rules for reviewing them, and provided a list of the top priority industries for project implementation.

“I am confident that the implementation of the decisions we have made will enable qualitative improvements of integration interaction in the EAEU,” noted Artak Kamalyan.

 

 The EEC Minister thanked the EAEU Business Council for organizing an excellent event, and also, while answering questions during the meeting, noted the leading role of business in the work to pool promising cooperation projects that can be implemented with the help of new measures to support manufacturing industry. He also emphasized that the coordination and advisory body of the business circles of the Union States had valuable capacity for expert assessment of business initiatives, and that factor would be among the key ones in the further interaction of the Commission with the EAEU Business Council.

Artak Kamalyan underlined that the EEC was interested in more active cooperation with EAEU businesses, and noted its readiness to continue raising awareness among business circles about the possibility of getting financial support from the EAEU budget. For instance, on December 11 at 11.00 at the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of the Russian Federation, there will be an open presentation of the new mechanism for developing industrial cooperation.

“We invite dialogue with all entrepreneurs of the EAEU countries who are interested in creating cooperative projects and need financial support,” concluded the EEC Minister.
