02 Dec 2016 Valery Koreshkov: “Standards are one of the most effective means of overcoming technical barriers to trade” The Eurasian Economic Commission (EEC) uses standards for reducing technical barriers to trade and development of technical regulations system. This was stated by the Member of the Board - Minister in charge of Technical Regulations of the Eurasian Economic Commission, Vice Chairman of the United Nations Economic Commission for Europe Working Party on Regulatory Cooperation & Standardization Policies (UNECE WG.6), Valery Koreshkov, at the meeting of the 26th session of the UNECE WG.6 held on December 2 in Geneva. The representative of the Commission also informed the participants of the meeting about the new technical regulations and other instruments adopted recently in the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU), taking into account the best international practices.

Adoption of the document will help eliminate restrictions in mutual trade of seeds and reduce dependence on agricultural imports of the Union countries.
