EEC and UAE Ministry of Energy and Infrastructure deepen interaction
Prospects for cooperation between the Eurasian Economic Union countries and the United Arab Emirates on developing the energy sector were discussed by Arzybek Kozhoshev, Minister in charge of Energy and Infrastructure of the Eurasian Economic Commission, and Suhail Mohamed Al Mazrouei, Minister of Energy and Infrastructure of the UAE, on November 4 this year on the sidelines of the ADIPEC International Exhibition and Conference in Abu Dhabi.
The EEC Minister informed on the work carried out by Member States to build common markets for the Union's energy resources, as well as to promote renewable energy sources and the climate agenda within the EAEU. The sides agreed to exchange experience in improving energy saving and energy efficiency, as well as developing green technologies and renewable energy sources.
As part of ADIPEC-2024, Arzybek Kozhoshev took part in the Ministerial Roundtable “Energy Transition, Artificial Intelligence and the Role of Emerging Economies”.
During the discussion, the EEC Minister emphasized: “Modern energy industry faces challenges of efficient energy management as well as ensuring the power grid stability, sustainability and manageability”.
The forum attendees noted that joint activities of the EAEU countries to form a common energy space is one of the key issues of the Eurasian integration. Common energy markets will enable not only to rationalize the use of available resources, but also to ensure non-discriminatory access to affordable, reliable and sustainable energy sources at transparent market prices for all energy producers and the population.
Common markets are intended to facilitate optimized generating equipment utilization, improve the situation with the depreciation of fixed assets, increase the reliability and safety of operated energy facilities and diversify energy sources.
The event also focused on the role of advanced, intelligent and innovative digital solutions in developing the energy industry. Artificial intelligence was named as a powerful tool for solving these problems.
“With the advancement of technology and the introduction of new energy sources, the issue of optimization and management is becoming critical. Artificial intelligence provides new opportunities to create smart systems that can adapt to changes in the environment, predict consumption and efficiently allocate energy resources,” Arzybek Kozhoshev noted.
A press conference was held on the sidelines of the forum, during which the EEC Minister answered questions from the media.
