EEC prepared a review of international experience in government support for organic farming

The Board of the Eurasian Economic Commission considered a review of international experience in government support for the development of organic farming.

"In most countries of the Eurasian Economic Union, sectoral legislation in this area was adopted just recently, two or three years ago. As part of the review, we pursued the goal of showing the international experience of government policy on the development of promising organic farming in the context of the growth of the world market for organic products and the relevance of the international climate agenda," said Artak Kamalyan, Minister in charge of Industry and Agroindustrial Complex of the EEC. "In particular, along with various instruments for supporting the manufacturer, the government support proposes the development of educational programs for training of relevant specialists, the implementation of scientific research in this area, conducting state media campaigns to promote this concept among consumers, and other areas of focus."

The document contains information on trends and prospects of the global organic market, measures taken to develop the sector in the leading producing countries and the EAEU states, as well as recommendations to the Union countries on state support for this agricultural sector.
