EEC develops customs cooperation with UN Economic Commission for Europe

On the sidelines of the 87th session of the Inland Transport Committee of the UN Economic Commission for Europe, Ruslan Davydov, EEC Minister in charge of Customs Cooperation, held a working meeting with Tatiana Molchan, UNECE Executive Secretary, to discuss customs cooperation issues.The parties exchanged views on the development of transport corridors, customs transit and arrangement of checkpoints. The importance of introducing the single window mechanism as a tool to increase the efficiency of foreign economic activity and optimize the costs of foreign trade participants was also noted.

The meeting resulted in agreements to deepen cooperation between the Eurasian Economic Commission and the United Nations Economic Commission for Europe, including within the framework of the Memorandum of Cooperation, which has been in force since 2013.
