International roundtable “Developing integration, bringing continents together. EAEU - Latin America”

Page Content On December 16, the Eurasian Economic Commission in partnership with the UN Economic Commission for Latin America and the Caribbean (ECLAC) and the Institute of Latin American Studies of the Russian Academy of Sciences (ILA RAN) will hold the international roundtable “Developing integration, bringing continents together”, dedicated to the discussion of integration links of the Eurasian and Latin American regions.Objective tendencies of the association of countries in regional integration structures, on the one hand, and the increased extraregional integration cooperation, on the other hand, necessitate the search for common points of interest and directions of interregional interaction of the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU) and the countries of Latin America and the Caribbean states.Bearing in mind the importance of the integration dialogue between Latin American and Eurasian regions, the EEC is taking steps to promote constructive cooperation and interregional interaction. Targets of the event:1.     discussion of areas of cooperation between the EAEU Member States and participating countries of integration associations in Central and South America;2.     elaboration of possible formats of building a constructive interregional dialogue;3.     overview of recent cooperation trends in existing integration associations within the Latin American continent. Program:1.     opening speech by the EEC Board Member - Minister in charge of Integration and Macroeconomics Tatyana Valovaya;2.     presentation by ILA RAN, dedicated to the analysis of integration processes in Latin America and the latest trends in the field of integration cooperation in Central and South America;3.     presentation by ECLAC on combining MERCOSUR and Pacific Alliance units (teleconference);4.     presentation by the EEC on macroeconomic development of the EAEU Member States and prospects for trade and economic cooperation with the countries of Latin America and the Caribbean.5.     Expert discussion. Venue: Board Room, Bldg. 2, 2 Letnikovskaya street, MoscowTime: 15:00. We invite all the interested parties to work together within the roundtable. Please confirm your participation to Yulia Rumyantseva by Tel. +7 (495) 6692400 (ext. 4698) or by email rumyanceva@eecommission.org latest on December 14, 2016. Contact person: Deputy Head of the Cooperation in Conducting Agreed Macroeconomic Policy Division of the Macroeconomic Policy Department, Larisa Plachinda, Tel. +7(495)6692400 (ext. 4655), e-mail: plachinda@eecommission.org​ ​
