Page ContentOn October 28 a Roundtable on
“The prospects of development of RFID technology in the EAEU", organised
by the Customs Tariff and Non-tariff Regulation Department of the Eurasian
Economic Commission will take place at 10:00 at the Eurasian Week Forum and
Expo.
The event is aimed at
expanding the use of RFID technology on the territory of the Eurasian Economic
Union.
Labelling goods is the most
effective tool of control over the turnover of consumer goods.
The experience of the pilot
project to label fur products showed that the best method of labelling is by
using RFID identification.
The use of RFID technology to
label goods has undeniable advantages and prospects for further use in other
groups of goods. It should be noted, however, that the main disadvantage of
this technology is the relatively high cost.
The round table will be a
platform for communication between the public authorities of the countries of
the Union, business associations, information system developers, as well as the
issuers of control labels and the manufacturers of RFID tags. During the round
table, it is planned to discuss the role of labelling goods subject to
regulated circulation with control signs, taking into account the experience of
the pilot project, as well as the key issues concerning the development of RFID
technologies in the Union.
Also, the question of
implementing the full production chain of RFID tags and readers on the
territory of the Union will be put forward for discussion.
