Page ContentOn March 31, Bishkek (the Kyrgyz Republic) will
host the seventh session of the Advisory Committee on Intellectual Property of
the Eurasian Economic Commission chaired by the Minister in charge of Economy
and Financial Policy of the EEC Timur Suleymenov.
The session participants will discuss the work
conducted on the Draft Treaty on Trademarks, Service Marks and Appellations of
Origin of Goods of the Eurasian Economic Union (the EAEU), the Draft Agreement
on the Procedure for Management of Copyrights and Allied Rights on a Collective
Basis. Representatives of the Member
States will provide information on the work for conducting internal procedures
on the Draft Protocol on Amendments to the Agreement on the Single Customs
Register of Intellectual Property Assets of the Customs Union dated May 21,
2010, as well as internal procedures required for the entry into force of the
Treaty on Coordinated Actions in Protection of Intellectual Property Rights.
In addition, the session
participants will consider the Draft Regulation of Interaction between the
Competent Authorities and the Eurasian Economic Commission in the Protection of
Intellectual Property Rights, the Draft Statute on the International Form
“Anti-Counterfeiting”.
Information will be provided on the
activities of the Working Group on elaboration of proposals concerning further
application of the principle of exhaustion of exclusive rights to intellectual
property assets.
In addition, the following issues are on the
agenda:
- fulfilment of obligations taken by the
Republic of Armenia in the sphere of intellectual property in connection with
the accession to the Treaty on the EAEU dated May 29, 2014;
- procedure for payment of royalties for
performance of works in the production and distribution of compulsory public
package of television programs;
- necessity for creating mechanisms
of coordination in the sphere of combating distribution of counterfeit and
illegal products on the markets of the EAEU Member States;
- establishment of an expert group at the
Advisory Committee on Intellectual Property under the EEC Board.
