While in Belarus, Goar Barseghyan discussed further development of EAEU industry and agriculture

On June 5 in Minsk, Goar Barseghyan, Minister in charge of Industry and Agriculture of the Eurasian Economic Commission, had a working meeting with Igor Petrishenko, Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Belarus.

The Belarusian side was represented in the negotiations by Alexander Ogorodnikov, First Deputy Minister of Industry of Belarus; Alesya Abramenko, Deputy Minister of Economy of Belarus, and Alla Lomakina, Deputy Minister of Agriculture and Food of Belarus.

The parties discussed development of cooperation in the industry and agriculture of the Eurasian Economic Union.

Igor Petrishenko noted the importance of ensuring food security of the EAEU Member States in the context of statements made by the heads of delegations of the Union countries at the International Specialized Exhibition BELAGRO 2024.

The participants also considered relevant matters of launching the mechanism of financial support to industrial cooperation, key priorities of Belarus in the implementation of a coordinated agricultural policy within the EAEU, and approaches to the implementation of interstate programs and projects in the industrial sphere.

Within the framework of her working visit to Belarus, Goar Barseghyan visited Belkommunmash Holding Management Company OJSC and BELGEE CJSC, where she familiarized herself with the production process and the line of manufactured machinery, as well as held meetings with Alexey Kozlov, Deputy Minister of Industry of the Republic of Belarus, and the management of the largest machine-building enterprises of Belarus.

EEC Minister informed the meeting participants in detail about the new mechanism of financial support in the implementation of joint industrial cooperation projects by the Member States within the Union, noting the need for more active involvement of Belarusian businesses in the process of creating project proposals.

A meeting between Goar Barseghyan and Taras Murog, General Director of Belkommunmash, was dedicated to discussing practical steps to launch the project of the Eurasian Electric Bus interstate program, the development of which was approved by the EEC Council in December last year.

As a result of Goar Barseghyan's working visit, the parties reached an agreement to hold face-to-face consultations of the interested enterprises and research organizations of the Member States at production sites of the Republic of Belarus in order to address practical issues of producing components for electric buses.
