New member from Kyrgyz Republic joined consortium of development institutions

The Economic Policy Research Institute of the Kyrgyz Republic (EPRI KR) joined the consortium of development institutions. The relevant agreement was signed on December 18 in Moscow as part of the meeting of representatives of development institutions organized by the Agency for Strategic Initiatives.

Earlier, the Kyrgyz Republic initiated the creation of a development institution within the Eurasian Economic Union. It was decided to form a consortium of development institutions with the assistance of the Eurasian Economic Commission. It included the Center for Strategic Development of the Republic of Armenia, the National Institute for Strategic Studies under the President of the Kyrgyz Republic and the Agency for Strategic Initiatives (Russian Federation).

The EPRI KR became the fourth member of the consortium. The ceremony of signing the agreement on its accession was attended by Sanzhar Mukanbetov, Director of the EPRI KR, and Svetlana Chupsheva, Chairman of the Consortium's Coordination Council and Director General of the Agency for Strategic Initiatives.

As Sergei Glazyev, EEC Minister in charge of Integration and Macroeconomics, noted, creating the consortium of development institutions has become a significant step for implementing joint initiatives, sharing best practices and forming common methodological principles of investment activity in the regions.

“This has become a new mechanism for promoting joint integration projects. We see opportunities to further enhance interaction and form joint investment projects," Sergei Glazyev said.

In 2024, the consortium will hold a competition "Symbols of the Eurasian Integration", which will be aimed at identifying joint projects, promoting cooperation, and enhancing investment activity in the Member States and the attractiveness of their regions.

The business meeting was attended by representatives of international organizations, as well as countries of the Asian, African, South-Eastern and European regions.
