EAEU countries’ largest agricultural machine building enterprises establish industrial cooperation

The Petersburg Tractor Plant and the Minsk Tractor Works as well as Gomselmash — the largest agricultural machine building enterprises in Belarus and Russia — announced the establishment of the Union of Industrialists "Progress". The ceremony was held on the sidelines of the Belarusian-Russian Business Forum in St. Petersburg on March 30.

Signing the Memorandum of Cooperation between these companies coordinated by the Eurasian Economic Commission’s Industrial Unit before laid the groundwork for establishing a new significant industry association in the EAEU.

The "Progress" plans to study market conditions, organize seminars, conferences, and put forward proposals to improve the national and supranational legislative framework.

"Establishing this association is certainly a landmark event, which is the practical result of the Commission's systematic on developing industrial cooperation between enterprises of the Eurasian Economic Union States", noted Artak Kamalyan, EEC Minister in charge of Industry and Agriculture.
Besides, as part of implementing the Memorandum signed last year by the heads of enterprises of Belarus and Russia, it is planned to elaborate and implement promising projects in the manufacture of agricultural machinery and equipment as well as the forestry and municipal industries, to deepen intersectoral and interstate cooperation as well as to promote products to third markets. The document notes that other market participants may accede to the Memorandum as well.
