During the Eurasian Economic Forum in Bishkek on May 26, the meeting of the Joint Board of the EAEU Countries' Customs Services discussed the need to update value risk indicators for goods imported into the Eurasian Economic Union, the expediency of making amendments to the list of goods, as approved by the Supreme Eurasian Economic Council in 2015, the summarized results of industry monitoring conducted by the Commission, and a number of other topics.
Maksat Mamytkanov, Minister in charge of Customs Cooperation of the Eurasian Economic Commission, who took part in the meeting noted that the customs service had always been and continued to be an important link in ensuring state security and a guarantor for the protection of national interests, whereas, in the context of world economy globalization, international customs cooperation was one of the most significant components of any state economic policy.
Maksat Mamytkanov expressed confidence in further fruitful cooperation between the Commission and the Joint Board.
It bears reminding that the Joint Board established in 2011 is one of the most experienced and efficient integration bodies of the Union. It coordinates practical actions of the Union States' customs services under the unified principles of customs administration and serves as a venue for the discussion and development of mutually agreed unified solutions, as well as for the prompt settlement of problems in the customs sphere.
