Maksim Ermolovich, Minister in charge of Competition and Antitrust Regulation of the Eurasian Economic Commission, and Igor Artemiev, President of the St. Petersburg International Commodity Exchange, discussed establishing the Eurasian Economic Union's common commodity exchange market.
“The concept currently being discussed by the EAEU Member States should cover almost the entire commodity nomenclature of the exchange market. I am confident that the volume and nomenclature of goods, primarily raw materials, which circulate in the market of our “five” countries make it possible to create a supranational system of price indicators,” the EEC Minister said.
The document is in a high degree of preparation: the Eurasian Intergovernmental Council is scheduled to consider it in the near future.
“Nothing prevents exchanges to organize joint sessions on the sale of goods even now, with the consent of our governments, in order to gradually develop practical principles for creating and operating full-fledged exchange markets in the future,” Igor Artemiev noted.
