EEC Minister Varos Simonyan: "The EAEU should intensify implementing coordinated ICT policies"

At present, national states, regional and international organizations elaborate their program and target documents with a common vision for developing digital economy and protecting digital sovereignty for decades, setting out core objectives, creating a monitoring system and outlining the main stages and means to achieve these goals. This was reported by Varos Simonyan, Minister in charge of Internal Markets, Informatization, Information and Communication Technologies of the Eurasian Economic Commission, on June 20 in Minsk at the section "Information and Communication Technologies" within the International Scientific and Practical Conference "Scientific and Technical Cooperation as the Basis for the EAEU Development in Light of New Economic Challenges: Problems and Solutions". Varos Simonyan has noted that the world heads for target indicators in such areas as education in the field of digital technologies, digital infrastructure, digital transformation of business, and digital transformation of public services.

"Within the Eurasian digital space, we have already started work to improve our integrated information system, revised the principle of goal-setting and implementing digital projects and initiatives. But we still need to intensify implementing the coordinated ICT policies that can be developed within the Union’s individual agreements", the EEC Minister noted.
