EEC reviewed proposals aimed at harmonizing natural monopoly legislation

The outputs of work to compile a list of regulatory legal acts of the Eurasian Economic Union countries in the field of natural monopolies to be approximated were discussed during the meeting of the Advisory Committee on Natural Monopolies chaired by Elena Valenta, Acting Director of Transport and Infrastructure Department of the Eurasian Economic Commission.

"The document will facilitate the processes of harmonizing the legislation of Member States in the field of natural monopolies via making relevant amendments to the national legislation based on the principles and rules of regulating the activities of natural monopoly entities stipulated in the Treaty on the EAEU," noted Elena Valenta.

The meeting also approved the information format that will contain performance outcomes in the field of natural monopolies over the current year.

Moreover, the Commission for Regulating Public Services of the Republic of Armenia made a presentation on tariff policy features and state support measures related to energy efficiency issues in Armenia.

The action plan (roadmap) for sequencing the implementation of relevant measures to harmonize the legislation of the Eurasian Economic Union Member States in the sphere of natural monopolies was approved by Disposition No. 37 of the Eurasian Economic Commission’s Council dated December 20, 2017
