Minister Tatyana Valovaya: “Our goal is to find new common points in the field of economic cooperation between the EAEU and the EU”
This year marks the 15th anniversary of the adoption of the Joint Statement of the Heads of State and Government on strengthening cooperation with a view to creating Common Economic Space based on Common European Economic Space concept at the Russia-EU Summit held in Saint Petersburg in May 2003. In addition, Russia-EU Permanent Partnership Council started its work and the dialogue on key cooperation areas and the creation of the “roadmap” was opened. “In view of such history, we need to restore confidence and resume an active dialogue with our partners in the European Union, to untangle the deadlock in the relations between the EAEU and the EU,” Tatyana Valovaya, Member of the Board (Minister) in charge of the Development of Integration and Macroeconomics of the Eurasian Economic Commission (EEC), stated at the headquarters of the Russian Union of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs (RSPP) during a roundtable discussion “Prospects for the EAEU – EU Common Economic Space: Challenges and Opportunities for Business”.

EEC explains the EAEU rules of competition on trans-border markets
On May 28, the first offsite session of the Public Reception Office of the Competition and Antimonopoly Regulation Unit of the Eurasian Economic Commission (EEC) was held in Minsk. According to Marat Khusainov, Member of the Board – Minister in charge of Competition and Anti-Monopoly Regulation of the EEC, a new format for interaction with the business community was created to effectively explain the rights and responsibilities of business in the field of competition on the cross-border markets of the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU).

Tools of export support of EAEU countries discussed at SPIEF-2018
Tools of the Eurasian Economic Commission (EEC) for export development of the countries of the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU) such as the creation of free trade zones, the cooperation of financial institutions and the holding of the International Forum Eurasian Week, were discussed at the round table “Modern Mechanisms for Export Promotion to Foreign Markets” as part of the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum – 2018.

Industrial cooperation in the space sphere to be launched in the EAEU
The representatives of space agencies of Belarus, Kazakhstan and Russia agreed on industrial cooperation in the production of Earth remote-sensing satellites (ERS satellites). The resolution was adopted at a meeting of the Interstate Working Group on development of the intergovernmental program Integrated System of the EAEU Member States for the Production and Provision of Space and Geoinformation Services on the Basis of National Remote Sensing Data Sources within the framework of the forum “Space Days of the Republic of Kazakhstan – 2018”.

EAEU tax officers improve the legislation on levying VAT in mutual trade
The Advisory Committee on Tax Policy and Administration under the Eurasian Economic Commission (EEC) has essentially approved uniform approaches to taxation and tax administration in the sphere of digital (electronic) economy in the countries of the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU). The meeting was attended by Heads and experts of national public authorities that supervise the tax policy issues of the EAEU. The event was held on May 22 in Astana (Republic of Kazakhstan) chaired by Timur Zhaksylykov, Member of the Board – Minister in charge of Economic and Financial Policy of the Eurasian Economic Commission (EEC).
