UNCTAD's legal reviews help improve EAEU competition law
Arman Shakkaliev, Minister in charge of Competition and Antitrust Regulation of the Eurasian Economic Commission, has attended the online presentation of the Belarusian competition law review conducted by the Competition and Consumer Protection Division of the United Nations Conference on Trade and Development (UNCTAD).

EEC: prospects for work under Union's Free Trade Agreements depend on their expectation effects
Sergey Chernyshev, Assistant Member of the Board – Minister in charge of Trade of the Eurasian Economic Commission, has attended the discussion "EAEU: What Next?" organized by the Valdai International Club following the meeting of the Supreme Eurasian Economic Council. The meeting has discussed relevant matters of the Eurasian integration. The discussion attendees have delved into, in particular, the work on removing obstacles in mutual trade, possibilities of expanding the EEC’s competence as well as the challenges associated with discrepancies in the volume and structure of economies of the Union participating countries. As it was noted, the Strategy for Developing the Eurasian Economic Integration until 2025 adopted by the Heads of the EAEU States on December 11 will enable solving a number of problems.

EAEU countries decided to transit to second stage of forming common gas market
At the meeting of the Supreme Eurasian Economic Council held on December 11, the Heads of the Eurasian Economic Union countries decided to ensure completing the first stage activities on establishing the Union’s common gas market. In particular, to ensure the availability and completeness of disclosure on available capacities of gas transportation systems; to develop and agree on uniform rules for access to gas transportation systems located in the Member States’ territories; to approve the procedure for conducting stock trading in gas agreed by the Union countries' authorized authorities.

EEC Council’s decision on approving Rules for determining country of origin of goods for public procurement purposes entered into force
On December 11, the Supreme Eurasian Economic Council vested the Eurasian Economic Commission's Council with powers to approve the Rules for determining the country of origin of certain goods for public procurement purposes. The relevant decision related to making amendments to the Rules of Procedure of the Eurasian Economic Commission was adopted at the SEEC meeting.

Heads of EAEU States decided to sign Agreement on exchange of information in field of countering illegal income
Following the meeting held on December 11, Members of the Supreme Eurasian Economic Council will sign an Agreement on information exchange in the field of combating money laundering and financing of terrorism when moving cash and (or) cash instruments across the customs border of the Eurasian Economic Union.
