Agreement on trade and economic cooperation between the EAEU and the PRC to enter into force in early 2019
Veronika Nikishina, Member of the Board – Minister in charge of Trade of the Eurasian Economic Commission spoke on September 11 in Vladivostok within the framework of the Eastern Economic Forum about the need for the liberalization of the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU) market, priority projects for the EAEU countries in the context of the formation of the Silk Road Economic Belt and the prospects for the Agreement on trade and economic cooperation with the People's Republic of China.

EEC approved a number of documents for operation of common drug market
The issues of energy, technical regulation, pharmaceuticals and trade were considered at the meeting of the Board of the Eurasian Economic Commission (EEC) on September 7. In particular, the EEC Board approved a number of documents for the operation of the common drug market as well as the Protocol on the Common Electric Power Market of the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU).

EEC experts held consultations for Kyrgyz businesses
The White Paper on competition on the transboundary markets of the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU) was presented on September 6 by the specialists of the Eurasian Economic Commission (EEC) Competition and Antitrust Regulatory Unit within the offsite meeting of the public reception office in Bishkek (the Kyrgyz Republic). This publication is a reference book for the business community working on the EAEU’s transboundary markets. The publication in an accessible form explains the legal basis for the protection of competition on the Union’s single markets, the procedure and basis for filing a complaint with the Commission in case of violation of business rights as a result of anticompetitive actions of partners.

EEC and the International Tax Association agreed on cooperation
The Eurasian Economic Commission (EEC) will use the expert assessments of the International Tax Association to improve the tax legislation of the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU). In addition, the organizations plan to conclude a Memorandum of Understanding and conduct joint activities on tax issues. This was agreed by Timur Zhaksylykov, Member of the Board – Minister in charge of Economic Affairs and Financial Policy of the Eurasian Economic Commission (EEC), Murray Clayson, President of the International Fiscal Association (IFA) and Jean-Blaise Eckert, Secretary General of the organization, at the 72nd IFA Congress that took place on September 2-6 in Seoul (Republic of Korea).

Vice Prime Ministers to discuss five most sensitive challenges of the EAEU internal market at the EEC’s Council
The most sensitive obstacles in mutual trade between the States of the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU) as well as measures to eliminate them were discussed at the fifth meeting of the Advisory Committee on the Functioning of Internal Markets. One of such obstacles is the issue of mutual recognition of electronic digital signatures, access to government and municipal procurement in certain areas, prevention of cases of minimum reference prices for individual goods imported from the EAEU countries, mutual recognition of the veterinary control (surveillance) system in all countries of the Union, and collection of a security deposit in respect of alcohol products supplied from the States of the Union.

EEC and Russian Ministry of Industry and Trade discussed six-year operating outcomes of the EAEU industrial unit
The Eurasian Economic Commission (EEC) has developed approaches to the implementation of a coherent industrial policy in the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU) that were supported by the "five" countries and included in the Treaty on the EAEU. This made it possible to achieve significant practical outcomes of the integration work of the Eurasian Economic Commission’s industrial unit in a number of directions. This was stated by Sergey Sidorskiy, Member of the Board - Minister in charge of Industry and Agriculture of the EEC during a working meeting at the Ministry of Industry and Trade of the Russian Federation on operating outcomes of the EAEU industrial unit for the period 2012-2018.

A barrier in form of applying minimum level of control prices for goods from EAEU countries to be eliminated in Kyrgyzstan
The issues of customs regulation, competition and functioning of internal markets of the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU) were considered at the meeting of the Eurasian Economic Commission’s (EEC) Board. The EEC notes the readiness of the Kyrgyz Republic to eliminate a barrier in mutual trade, the case of signs of unfair competition has been discontinued, the overhead crane has been classified, and the Regulation on the Certifying Center of the Commission has been approved.

Milk products will become easier to distinguish from milk-containing products
Consumers will be able to clearly distinguish between milk-containing products with or without the addition of a substitute for milk fat. For this purpose, a number of amendments are introduced for the labeling. Corresponding changes in the technical regulations of the Customs Union "On Safety of Milk and Milk Products" adopted on November 10, 2017 by the Decision No. 102 of the Council of the Eurasian Economic Commission, enter into force on July 16 this year.
