Passenger customs declaration for express cargo to be applied to larger nomenclature of goods

On January 27, the Board of the Eurasian Economic Commission amended the passenger customs declaration for express cargo, expanding the possibilities of its application.

"The previously existing restriction to apply the declaration in respect of indivisible goods has been eliminated due to the current absence of such a concept in the law of the Eurasian Economic Union," said Ruslan Davydov, EEC Minister in charge of Customs Cooperation.

The approved amendments are also aimed at further unifying the procedure for declaring information. In particular, information on the placement of goods for temporary storage will have to be indicated in all EAEU states, whereas now — so far — only in three countries of the Union.

Decision No. 158 of the EEC Board dated October 16, 2018 approved the form and procedure for filling in the passenger customs declaration for express cargo, which is used in the customs declaration of goods for personal use transported by express carriers.
