Chairmanship in EAEU governing bodies assigned to Republic of Armenia on January 1, 2024

On January 1, 2024, the Republic of Armenia assumed the chairmanship in the Eurasian Economic Union's governing bodies and will chair the Supreme Eurasian Economic Council, the Eurasian Intergovernmental Council and the Eurasian Economic Commission's Council during 2024.

As part of the chairmanship, it is planned to hold a meeting of the Supreme Eurasian Economic Council in Moscow to mark the 10th anniversary of the Eurasian Economic Union, to hold the 3rd Eurasian Economic Forum, a meeting of the Eurasian Intergovernmental Council, as well as a number of other events. 

Nikol Pashinyan, Prime Minister of the Republic of Armenia, Chairman of the Supreme Eurasian Economic Council and the Eurasian Intergovernmental Council, is expected to address the Heads of State of the Eurasian Economic Union in the near future with the priorities of Armenia's chairmanship in the EAEU governing bodies.

For reference

In accordance with the Treaty on the EAEU, the chairmanship in the Supreme Council, the Intergovernmental Council and the Commission's Council shall be assumed on a rotation basis in the Russian alphabetical order by one Member State within one calendar year without the right for prolongation.
