Ruslan Davydov, Minister in charge of Customs Cooperation of the Eurasian Economic Commission, spoke at the plenary session of the International Conference of the Court of the Eurasian Economic Union about the transformation of customs regulation in the EAEU and promising areas of work for its further improvement. Among them are amendments to the EAEU Customs Code, implementation of the agreement on the use of electronic navigation seals, and the signing of an agreement on a unified customs transit system.
"Efficient introduction of these tools and ensuring unified customs regulation will help reduce the incidence of barriers in the EAEU," said Ruslan Davydov. "Freedom of movement of goods across the EAEU is impossible without unified customs regulation."
The EEC Minister also drew attention to the importance of progressive movement forward in the improvement of customs legislation, which has been repeatedly stated by the leaders of the Union and is enshrined in the Declaration on Further Development of Economic Processes within the Eurasian Economic Union for the period up to 2030-2045.
At the thematic session Customs Regulation and Development of the EAEU Internal Market Ruslan Davydov spoke about the interaction between the EEC Customs Unit and the EAEU Court. "Classification of certain types of goods is one of the main subjects of appeals to the EAEU Court concerning customs regulation," said the EEC Minister. "At the same time, out of 200 classification decisions adopted by the Commission during the entire period of the Union's functioning, only 10% were appealed in the EAEU Court."
