09 Feb 2021 High-level Working Group to determine mechanisms for ensuring data safety in EAEU The Eurasian Economic Union may establish a working group on digital transformation at the level of heads of relevant departments. First of all, the working group will be engaged in regulating data turnover. This initiative was put forward by Gegham Vardanyan, Member of the Board – Minister in charge of Internal Markets, Information Support, Information and Communication Technologies of the Eurasian Economic Commission, during the panel session "Digital Agenda in the EAEU Strategy until 2025", held within the "Digital Almaty 2021" forum.

09 Feb 2021 Mikhail Myasnikovich, Chairman of EEC Board, held meeting with Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf, Chairman of Majlis of Islamic Council of Iran The meeting touched upon relevant matters of multilateral interaction and the trade and economic agenda. In particular, implementing the Interim Agreement leading to the formation of a free trade area between the Eurasian Economic Union and its Member States and the Islamic Republic of Iran, the start of negotiations on a free trade agreement as well as ways to intensify cooperation in general were discussed.

08 Feb 2021 Eurasian Intergovernmental Council prepares list of joint measures for raw material supply of metallurgical industry within EAEU At a meeting held on February 5, the Eurasian Intergovernmental Council addressed the issue of whether the Republic of Kazakhstan and the Republic of Belarus fulfill their obligations within functioning of the Eurasian Economic Union internal market – eliminating restrictions on the export of scrap and waste of ferrous and non-ferrous metals.

08 Feb 2021 Union countries to jointly manufacture coronavirus vaccine It bears reminding that some issues of the Union’s medicine safety amid the coronavirus pandemic were addressed at the meeting of the Heads of the EAEU States held in April last year, when discussing the current situation in the manufacturing industry. The meeting attendees then noted the importance and timeliness of this plan development. The Commission was given a corresponding instruction.

06 Feb 2021 Eurasian Intergovernmental Council instructed to start addressing issues of applying response measures in Union’s territory Following a meeting held on February 5 in Almaty (Kazakhstan), the Eurasian Intergovernmental Council instructed the Eurasian Economic Commission, jointly with the Governments of the Eurasian Economic Union Member States, to start addressing the mechanism for applying measures in accordance with Paragraph 1 of Article 40 of the Treaty on the EAEU dated May 29, 2014.

05 Feb 2021 EAEU countries consolidate efforts to develop livestock breeding On February 5, the Eurasian Intergovernmental Council approved a Procedure for coordinating and providing analytical support for selection and breeding activities in the field of livestock breeding performed in the Eurasian Economic Union States.
