57% of the Russian Business Week attendees felt influence of the Eurasian integration
Business of the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU) States is being increasingly integrated into the integration processes, becoming their active participant. During the survey of attendees of the Russian Business Week which takes place in Moscow on March 11-15, 30% of the respondents noted that the Eurasian integration directly affected their business, another 27% noted some indirect influence of the EAEU – through their partners, contractors and consumers of products.

EEC hosted the first meeting of Ministers of Industry of the Eurasian “Five”
The meeting was held on March 13 at the headquarters of the Eurasian Economic Commission (EEC). The Ministers discussed approaches to the formation of a common industrial policy in the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU) and prospects for the implementation of cooperation projects.

Joint initiative of EEC and EAEU National Antitrust Authorities to protect competition in medical equipment markets was launched
The Eurasian Economic Commission (EEC) and the antitrust authorities of the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU) countries decided to start implementing, from March of this year, a joint public initiative on protection of competition. “First of all, this mechanism will begin functioning in the markets most susceptible to competition restrictions – medical equipment and medical products,” stated Marat Kusainov, Member of the Board – Minister in charge of Competition and Antitrust Regulation of the EEC, following the results of the meeting with the Heads of the EAEU National Antitrust Authorities in the “5+1” format, held on February 27.

World Health Organization noted progress of EAEU countries in combating major non-communicable diseases
The quality and safety of food products in the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU) market, the identification of antibiotic residues and other hazardous substances, including trans fats, is under the spotlight of the Eurasian Economic Commission (EEC). The elimination of principal risk factors, including improper feeding, can prevent at least 80% of all heart diseases, apoplectic attacks and diabetes, and 40% of cancers.

EEC and Indonesia ready to formalize relationships
The future development of cooperation between the Eurasian Economic Commission (EEC) and Indonesia with an emphasis on increasing trade and economic cooperation with all countries of the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU) was a focus of attention during the working meetings of the Member of the Board – Minister in charge of Integration and Macroeconomics of the EEC Tatyana Valovaya held in the government of this country. The talks were held as part of the EEC Delegation’s visit to Jakarta on February 14-15.
