If the common markets are formed properly, they can earn the participating countries profit, which would not be possible for single players. For example, the total effect of the creation of the common market of oil and petroleum products within the EAEU within five years will be from 5 to 8 billion USD. This is according to research by the Institute for Economic Strategies of the Russian Academy of Sciences. Based on its research, a draft Concept of the formation of the EAEU common markets of oil and petroleum products was drawn up, which was adopted by the Intergovernmental Council of the Union this year. The deadline for their creation is January 1, 2025. Almost another 10 years. But is it possible to speed up the process? Adamkul ZHUNUSOV, Member of the Board - Minister in charge of Energy and Infrastructure of the Eurasian Economic Commission answered this question specially for CE.
