Integration itself is not an easy process, and the first stages of the EAEU formation occur in the context of a notable deterioration of the macroeconomic situation. There are plenty of problems. The war of sanctions, lower oil prices, the “parade” of devaluations of national currencies of the Member States of the Union – only these factors nullify many of the efforts made by the partner countries. We decided to talk to the Member of the Board – Minister in charge of Economy and Financial Policy of the EEC, Timur Suleimenov, about the first results of the functioning of the Union.

The Eurasian Economic Union is forming with some difficulties - the exemptions and restrictions, non-tariff barriers and other handicaps do not allow the economies of the "five" countries to merge. The only area, where the integration has become so obvious that it cannot be denied, is customs regulations. For several years now our countries have been doing trade with foreign economic partners over a common border. However, there are problems even in this sphere. Vladimir Goshin, the Member of the Board – Minister in charge of Customs Cooperation, told to "Sovetskaya Belorussia" in his interview how the EAEU integration process was going forward and that new customs legislation was expected to enter into force.
