Presentation of the model competition law, the first Customs Union Law, is appointed for July. This document contains provisions that could seem severe in relation to business of the CU countries. However, Nurlan Aldabergenov, Minister of the Eurasian Economic Commission on Competition and Antitrust Regulation, is sure about the necessity of adoption of those provisions. In addition to the specifics of the new law, the Minister told Къ about the competitive situation in the CU countries, Commission actions with regard to barriers in mutual trade, and creation of a supranational antitrust authority.

Three and a half years have passed since the moment the Customs Union was created. The joint efforts of Kazakhstan, Russia, and Belarus resulted in the formation of common customs territory, cancellation of customs control at inner boundaries, and unification of trade control mechanisms.
