At the meeting of the Eurasian Intergovernmental Council held on August 25-26 in Cholpon-Ata (Kyrgyz Republic), the EAEU countries' joint work in the field of transport and logistics was considered. Following the discussion, a list of priority infrastructure transport projects in the EAEU countries was approbated.
The adopted document will serve as a basis for ensuring the coordination of the Union countries in the implementation of infrastructure projects with great integration potential, as mentioned Arzybek Kozhoshev, Minister in charge of Energy and Infrastructure of the Eurasian Economic Commission.
The list includes projects from all the Union countries. For instance, the North-South road corridor program (4th stage) from Armenia and the reconstruction of the M-1/E 30 highway (Brest (Kozlovichi) - Minsk - border of the Russian Federation (Redki)) from Belarus. From Kazakhstan, the list includes the reconstruction of Kazakhstani sections of the M-32 highway, related to the Europe - Western China international transport route. From Kyrgyzstan, the list includes the electrification of the Lugovaya-Balykchy railway section. The construction and modernization of Russian sections of roads related to the Europe - Western China international transport route is mentioned in the document from the Russian Federation.
In total, the list includes 7 projects of the EAEU countries at various stages of implementation. At the same time, all of them are aimed at developing the Eurasian transport corridors and routes, transit potential and transport infrastructure, which is included in the international transport corridors in the East-West and North-South directions, including as part of conjugation with the Chinese initiative "One Belt, One Road".
