EAEU improves approaches to business practices regarding consumers

The Eurasian Economic Commission has approved a recommendation on good business practices regarding consumers.

To develop the principles and criteria of good business practices regarding consumers adopted by the Commission's Board in January 2021, the EEC recommends that the countries of the Eurasian Economic Union support business initiatives promoting the development of corporate business ethics aimed at compliance with the principles of reasonableness, fairness, transparency, and responsibility to the consumer.

The recommendations imply introducing self-control measures, preventing the violations of mandatory consumer protection requirements, developing and establishing professional business standards, and implementing social responsibility best practices.

The document is provided for by the measures of the Strategy for Developing Eurasian Economic Integration until 2025. It accounts for the proposals from business associations and consumer public associations received during working meetings and round tables, including those held on the sidelines of the Eurasian Economic Forum in Bishkek.
