Andrey Slepnev discussed work on Uzbekistan's initiatives with Republic's representative at EEC
Andrey Slepnev, Minister in charge of Trade of the Eurasian Economic Commission, held a meeting with Fanil Kadirov, the official representative of the Government of the Republic of Uzbekistan at the Eurasian Economic Commission. The two sides discussed addressing the initiatives voiced by the President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev at the meeting of the Supreme Eurasian Economic Council on June 27, 2025. One of Shavkat Mirziyoyev's key proposals concerned Uzbekistan's possible involvement in the work of the Eurasian Reinsurance Company, as well as dedication of separate interaction programs to developing electronic commerce, labelling goods with means of identification and introducing digital technologies in trade. "The EEC attaches great importance to the high level of multilateral cooperation with the Republic of Uzbekistan as an Observer State at the Eurasian Economic Union. We are ready to start working on these issues as soon as we receive additional information on practical proposals of the Uzbek party," noted Andrey Slepnev.

Arzybek Kozhoshev held working meeting with CCTT head Mikhail Goncharov
A working meeting between Arzybek Kozhoshev, the EEC Minister in charge of Energy and Infrastructure, and Mikhail Goncharov, Secretary General of the International Coordinating Council on Trans-Eurasian Transportation (CCTT), took place on July 3 at the Eurasian Economic Commission. The two sides discussed relevant matters of rail transport in the Eurasian region, and developing transport infrastructure and logistics corridors in the EAEU in modern conditions. The Minister emphasized the importance of further strengthening the partnership between the EEC and CCTT to create a sustainable transport system that promotes economic growth and integration in the Eurasian region. "The practice of holding annual joint events on relevant matters of developing the transport and logistics complex shows the demand for this format. We bring representatives of government agencies, leading transport companies and associations around the same table," said Arzybek Kozhoshev. Mikhail Goncharov emphasized that the practical implementation of interaction plan between the EEC Transport and Infrastructure Department and the CCTT Secretariat will serve as an additional impetus for advancing fruitful and mutually beneficial cooperation on the development and improvement of international railway and multimodal transportation of goods. A Memorandum of Understanding between the EEC and CCTT was signed in 2017 to promote cooperation in the field of transport and logistics.

Bakytzhan Sagintaev conveyed greetings to Alexander Lukashenko on Independence Day of Belarus
Bakytzhan Sagintaev, Chairman of the Board of the Eurasian Economic Commission, extended his greetings to Alexander Lukashenko, President of the Republic of Belarus and Chairman of the Supreme Eurasian Economic Council, and all the Belarusian people on Independence Day. "Over the years of sovereignty, Belarus has achieved successes in social and economic development, while its ties with EAEU partners are enhancing," the letter of greetings reads. On behalf of the EEC and in his own capacity Bakytzhan Sagintaev wished further economic development to the Republic of Belarus, as well as prosperity and blessings to its citizens.

EEC and ASEAN shared experience in competition
On July 3, representatives of the Eurasian Economic Commission's Competition Unit and ASEAN shared their experience in the field of competition at the online seminar "Competition Policy and Enforcement in the EAEU and ASEAN". The event was attended by Maxim Ermolovich, the EEC Minister in charge of Competition and Antitrust Regulation. He noted that the Commission's cooperation with the ASEAN Secretariat and Experts Group on Competition is consistent and beneficial to both parties. "We are interested in ASEAN experience. Attention should be paid to the ASEAN competition policy assessment system, involving calculation of country-specific indices showing perceptions of competition by business community and organizations. Also of interest is the unified portal for assessing the consequences of mergers and acquisitions," emphasized Maxim Ermolovich. The seminar moderator Armine Hakobyan, Deputy Director of the EEC Department of Competition and Public Procurement Policy, informed the participants about the work in the field of competition policy, competition advocacy and international cooperation. Sergei Maximov, Director of the EEC Antitrust Regulation Department, spoke about the experience of the Eurasian Economic Commission in controlling compliance with the general rules of competition. In turn, the participants were welcomed by Ly Sopoirvichny, Chair of the ASEAN Experts Group on Competition and Independent Commissioner of the Competition Commission of Cambodia. The event was attended by representatives of ASEAN national competition authorities and the EEC Competition and Antitrust Unit.

Bakhyt Sultanov held negotiations with Chair of the Central Bank of Russia Elvira Nabiullina
Bakhyt Sultanov, Minister in charge of Economy and Financial Policy of the Eurasian Economic Commission held a working meeting with Elvira Nabiullina, Chair of the Central Bank of the Russian Federation, on the sidelines of the Financial Congress of the Bank of Russia on July 2 in Saint Petersburg. The two sides discussed approaches to harmonization and further establishment of the common financial market of the Eurasian Economic Union, considered problematic issues of the draft Action Plan for implementing the Eurasian Economic Path Declaration on Further Development of Economic Processes within the EAEU until 2030 and for the period until 2045. Also as part of the visit, Bakhyt Sultanov had a working meeting with Olga Polyakova, Deputy Chair of the Central Bank of the Russian Federation, on the establishment and harmonization of a common financial market. "The establishment of a common financial market is one of the strategic objectives of the EAEU. Harmonization of approaches in this area will allow us to create a common, transparent and reliable financial space, which will undoubtedly serve as a powerful incentive for investment and will ensure stability for the economic development of all Member States of the Union," the EEC Minister stressed. The Congress has traditionally been a leading platform for business dialogues between representatives of the Bank of Russia's management, leading Russian financial organizations, public authorities and the expert community. Participants discuss issues of financial market regulation, development of its digital infrastructures, the condition and prospects of the exchange space and payment systems. "Such platforms as the Financial Congress of the Bank of Russia are important for the development of a constructive dialogue and discussion of key trends and challenges of the modern financial environment, allowing participants to develop effective measures aimed at stability and sustainable development of the financial sector of all EAEU countries", noted Bakhyt Sultanov.

Bakytzhan Sagintaev conveyed anniversary greetings to Alexander Turchin
Bakytzhan Sagintaev, Chairman of the Eurasian Economic Commission's Board, conveyed 50-year anniversary greetings to Alexander Turchin, Prime Minister of the Republic of Belarus. “You make a significant contribution to strengthening mutually beneficial cooperation across the Eurasian Economic Union space,” the letter of greetings reads. On behalf of the EEC and in his own capacity, Bakytzhan Sagintaev wished Alexander Turchin good health, well-being and fulfilment of all plans for the benefit of the Republic of Belarus and its citizens.

EEC discussed combating illicit tobacco trafficking within EAEU
The first meeting of the working group on developing measures to combat the importation and circulation of illegal tobacco products in the Eurasian Economic Union was held on July 2 at the headquarters of the Eurasian Economic Commission, involving Ruslan Davydov, the EEC Minister in charge of Customs Cooperation. The working group was established in March this year under the Commission's Advisory Committee on Customs Regulation. It has more than 80 members, with half of them being business community representatives who initiated its creation. The meeting discussed the market situation for tobacco and nicotine-containing products in the EAEU, trends and dynamics of illegal turnover in this area, as well as the practice of using navigation seals to track road transportation of these products. The working group members made proposals on priority measures aimed at curbing illicit tobacco trafficking in the Union market, which will be addressed by the EEC with the involvement of authorized authorities of the Union countries.

Program for developing standards for cosmetic products amended
The Board of the Eurasian Economic Commission approved amendments to the Program for developing interstate standards that ensure the implementation and application of the Technical Regulation "On Safety of Perfumery and Cosmetic Products." The amendments envisage developing five interstate standards, including two standards for detecting formaldehyde in perfumery and cosmetic products based on the standards of the People's Republic of China; two standards for test methods for sunscreens based on ISO international standards; and one standard for Halal perfumery and cosmetic products based on the standard of the Standards and Metrology Institute for Islamic Countries (SMIIC). It is also planned to make amendments to nine interstate standards.
