Procedure clarified for customs authorities and foreign trade operators of EAEU countries to exchange information in goods transit

The Board of the Eurasian Economic Commission has amended the Customs Operations Procedure Related to the Release of Goods.

The procedure for informing about the release of goods has been clarified, the cases and procedure for making adjustments and cancellations of previously sent release messages have been specified, the composition of information sent to declarants using the information system of the customs authority has been adjusted, and a procedure has been established to follow after eliminating a malfunction in the information system caused by technical failures.

The document is part of a comprehensive effort to finalize the acts of the Eurasian Economic Union that regulate the application rules for the customs transit procedure and determine the requirements as to information transfer in transit operations. The amendments were developed to implement the electronic exchange of documents and information between the customs authorities of the EAEU countries in transit traffic of goods.

Customs operations procedure related to the release of goods, refusal to release goods and cancellation of the release of goods, procedure for issuing decisions to suspend the release of goods period, extend such suspension period and cancel such decisions, as well as notifications on adopting such decisions, approved by Decision No. 188 of the Eurasian Economic Commission's Board “On Some Issues Related to the Release of Goods” dated December 19, 2017.
