14 Feb 2019 EAEU and ASEAN elaborating plans for joint actions Plans and algorithms for cooperation between the Eurasian Economic Commission (EEC) and the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) were a major focus of interest of the EEC Board Member – Minister in charge of Integration and Macroeconomics Tatyana Valovaya and the ASEAN’s Deputy Secretary General for Economic Community Aladdin Rillo. Their meeting was held on February 14 as part of the EEC Delegation’s visit to the Republic of Indonesia.

12 Feb 2019 Russia, Kazakhstan and Iran signed Memorandum of Understanding on trade in wheat The Ministries of Agriculture of Russia, Kazakhstan and Iran concluded a tripartite memorandum of understanding on trade in wheat. The arrangement on signing the memorandum has become one of the results of negotiations under the Interim Agreement leading to the formation of a free trade area between the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU) and Iran. The signing ceremony that took place on February 12 in Moscow was attended by the Member of the Board – Minister in charge of trade of the Eurasian Economic Commission (EEC) Veronika Nikishina.

08 Feb 2019 Relations between the EAEU and Cuba demonstrating only positive dynamics A number of events devoted to furthering relations between the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU) and the Republic of Cuba took place in Havana on February 6-8. The delegation of the Eurasian Economic Commission (EEC) headed by the Chairman of the Commission’s Board Tigran Sargsyan discussed the issues of further economic cooperation during their working visit to Cuba.

27 Dec 2018 EAEU Technical Regulations “On Safety of Packaged Drinking Water, including Natural Mineral Water” to take effect on January 1, 2019 On bottles of drinking water for infant’s and children’s food, the inscription “for child’s food” or another indication of the purpose of drinking water will now appear for this purpose. The manufacturer or seller will have to give information on the age of children for whom drinking water is meant (under or since three years), to inform of the total mineralization, its basic composition, indicating chemical elements, storage conditions and shelf life after opening the container.

26 Dec 2018 GMO foods becoming more noticeable On December 26, the countries of the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU) introduce additional requirements for labeling products containing genetically modified organisms (GMOs). New standards included in the Union technical regulations “Food Products regarding their Labeling” will allow consumers to make a more informed and correct choice of food products.
