EEC Minister Tatyana Valovaya: "The UN platform is unique for the dialogue between integration associations"
Deepening integration within the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU) brings the "five" Eurasian countries closer to the implementation of the United Nations (UN) sustainable development goals. This statement was made by the Member of the Board - Minister in charge of Integration and Macroeconomics of the Eurasian Economic Commission (EEC), Tatyana Valovaya, at the annual Development Financing Forum of the United Nations Economic and Social Council (ECOSOC). The event takes place at the UN headquarters in New York from 22 to 25 May. The EEC Minister Tatyana Valovaya participates in the ministerial segment of the event.

The EEC develops cooperation with the International Association of Pension and Social Funds
Oleg Artamonov, the Deputy Director of the Labour Migration and Social Security Department of the Eurasian Economic Commission (EEC), presented the main provisions of the draft Pension Agreement for employees of the Member States of the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU) at the conference "The prospects for the development of pension and social insurance systems of Georgia and the countries of Eurasia" held in Batumi (Georgia). The event was organized by the International Association of Pension and Social Funds in cooperation with the Social Service Agency of Georgia.

The transition period for introduction of the system of e-certificates for carriage frames will be completed before July 1, 2018
Timing for the transition to the system of e-certificates for carriage frames, classification of a number of goods in accordance with the Commodity Nomenclature of Foreign Economic Activity of the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU) and a number of other issues were discussed at the session of the Board of the Eurasian Economic Commission (EEC) on 23 May.

Businesses with high level of industrial safety will reduce administrative burden
The risk-oriented approach for compliance with the requirements of technical regulations is planned to be applied in state control (supervision) sector in the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU). The Member of the Board - Minister in charge of Technical Regulation of the Eurasian Economic Commission (EEC), Valery Koreshkov, talked about it at the International Conference “Food Safety and Risk Analysis” held on May 18-19, in Sochi (Russia).

The EEC prepares the Union to import substitution
The Eurasian Economic Commission (EEC) has formed a preliminary list of companies of the countries of the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU), which are ready to take part in the import substitution program implemented by the Russian Federation. To participate in the program, 62 projects in 17 industry sectors were selected. A package of documents on import substitution in the EAEU was considered at the session of the Advisory Committee for Industry chaired by the Member of the Board - Minister in charge of Industry and Agroindustrial Complex, Sergey Sidorskiy.

The EEC and EDB will select cooperative projects with integration potential to be funded by the Bank
Priority projects in the field of industrial cooperation in the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU) will be funded by the Eurasian Development Bank (EDB). The Member of the Board - Minister in charge of Industry and Agroindustrial Complex of the Eurasian Economic Commission (EEC), Sergey Sidorskiy, made this statement at the first organizational session of the Specialized Working Party for review of cooperative projects with integration potential held at the EEC. “Thus, we are for the first time going to materially support the development of industrial cooperation in the Eurasian Economic Union through practical interaction with a specific financial structure - the Eurasian Development Bank,” Sergey Sidorskiy said.

The Republic of Indonesia is interested in developing cooperation with the EAEU
Opportunities for the development of trade and economic relations of the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU) and Indonesia were discussed at an international seminar “Eurasian Economic Union: challenges and opportunities for Indonesia”, which took place at the Udayana University (Denpasar, the Republic of Indonesia). The Assistant Minister in charge of Integration and Macroeconomics of the Eurasian Economic Commission (EEC), Fedor Chernitsyn, said in his speech that the Commission was open to dialogue both in the EAEU-APEC multilateral format, and bilaterally.
