Askat Bekov appointed Deputy Director of EEC Tariff and Non-Tariff Customs Regulation Department

Askat Turdumamatovich Bekov was born on July 20, 1986 in Dzhalal Abad (the Kyrgyz Republic). In 2009 he graduated from the Plekhanov Russian Academy of Economics, specialty "National Economy". In 2013 he graduated from the Academy of Public Administration under the President of the Kyrgyz Republic.

From 2009 to 2014 he worked at the Ministry of Finance of the Kyrgyz Republic. Then, over the course of five years, he worked at the Ministry of Economy of the Kyrgyz Republic, where he headed, inter alia, the Department of Customs Policy and Non-Tariff Regulation, and then the Department of Trade Policy and Licensing. From 2019 to 2021, he occupied various positions at the Presidential Administration of the Kyrgyz Republic, where he headed, inter alia, the Department of Strategic Development Policy and Planning. Besides, from 2019 to 2021, he was Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Agency for Banks Liquidation. He was Adviser to the Minister of Economy and Commerce of the Kyrgyz Republic when he joined the EEC.

He was awarded the badge "Outstanding Worker of Economics" of the Ministry of Economy of the Kyrgyz Republic, the medal "For Strengthening Customs Cooperation" of the State Customs Service of the Kyrgyz Republic, the medal "For Strengthening Tax Cooperation" of the State Tax Service of the Kyrgyz Republic, the medal "Birimdik" of the State Service for Economic Crimes under the Government of the Kyrgyz Republic and badges of merit.

On April 5, 2022, he was appointed Deputy Director of the Tariff and Non-Tariff Customs Regulation Department of the Eurasian Economic Commission.
