EAEU and PRC are Discussing Possibility of Customs Procedures Simplification
Ensuring safe delivery of goods, regional level interaction between the customs administrations, mutual recognition of the results of customs control, exchange of customs statistics data, improvement of customs administration and simplification of trade procedures for FEA participants may become the areas of future cooperation between the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU) and the People’s Republic of China (PRC).

EAEU and AEB Summed Up Results of First Quarter of Working under New Customs Code
Development of regulatory and legal framework for the implementation of all innovations of the Customs Code of the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU) will continue until 2019, said Mukai Kadyrkulov, Member of the Board – Minister in charge of Customs Cooperation of the Eurasian Economic Commission (EEC) during the meeting of the Commission’s delegation with the representatives of Association of European Businesses (AEB) member companies and Frank Schauff, General Director of the Association. Views were exchanged on the results of the first quarter of the EAEU countries working under the new Customs Code.

Dialogue between EAEU and EU: a Common Economic Space from Lisbon to Vladivostok through the eyes of European businesses
“The need for a dialogue of the EAEU and the EU is being frequently discussed nowadays in key international markets, involving an increasingly wide range of both of the representatives of businesses and expert communities, specialized international associations and institutions, and official representatives of the Member States of the two unions,” declared Tatyana Valovaya, Member of the Board – Minister in charge of Integration and Macroeconomics of the Eurasian Economic Commission (EEC) at the meeting of the working group “From Lisbon to Vladivostok.” It was created upon the initiative of large European businesses, which support the establishment of interaction between the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU) and the European Union (EU). The event was held at the headquarters of the Eurasian Economic Commission in Moscow on February 15.

Application for Digital Initiatives has a Form Now
The Board of the Eurasian Economic Commission (EEC) has approved a format for reporting information on initiatives or projects to be submitted by initiators (business representatives or public officials) and implemented as part of the Digital Agenda of the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU).

Support for Yamal LNG project and Equipping of Ambulances with Modern Patient Care Systems: Outcome of the EEC Council on February 16
Decisions to extend zero rate of the import customs duty of the Single Customs Tariff of the Eurasian Economic Union (SCT EAEU) of the terephthalic acid and its salts, to authorize duty-free import of equipment for the Yamal LNG project into the territory of the Russian Federation, to amend some technical regulations and regulations on the procedure for implementing Sanitary and Epidemiological Surveillance were taken at the EEC Council on February 16. In addition, a number of other issues of the integration agenda of the EAEU were discussed. In particular, it was decided that the III International Exhibition Forum “Eurasian Week” will be held in October 2018 in Armenia.

The use of single data models will reduce user costs in the course of the digital transformation of the EAEU economies
The discussion of leading experts in the field of digital environment development, data engineering and data model development has become one of the first steps to implement the EAEU Digital Agenda in respect of digital transformation of markets and the formation of the data industry. Karine Minasyan, Member of the Board – Minister in charge of Internal Markets, Information Support, Information & Communication Technologies of the EEC, noted that “digital twins, models and reference structures are becoming increasingly important. Decision-making and competitive success depend on the speed of data exchange, the availability of their own digital assets and an effective strategy for their development. Therefore, the success of the process of digital transformation of the economies of the Union’s countries should be based on launching basic projects that would become motive powers of their growth”. The Minister is confident that the most important task at the first phase is the formation of a common ontology of the digital space and the creation of a data model of the Eurasian Economic Union.

Digital Transformation of the EAEU Is the Success of Specific Projects
Development of digital platforms in the agroindustrial complex, establishment of an electronic labor exchange and a system of interconnected e-markets for state municipal procurement in the EAEU, introduction of paperless technology in transport and logistics sector – these are some of the initiatives from business and state authorities of the Eurasian "five" countries were discussed at the "Digital Agenda of the EAEU: Initiatives and Projects” meeting within the framework of the "Digital Agenda in the Age of Globalization" forum in Almaty (Republic of Kazakhstan).
