China and the EAEU declared the conclusion of negotiations on the Agreement on Trade and Economic Cooperation
A joint statement of the Eurasian Economic Commission (EEC) and the Ministry of Commerce of the People's Republic of China (PRC) on the principal conclusion of negotiations on the agreement on trade and economic cooperation was signed on October 1 in Hangzhou (China). From China, the document was signed by the Minister of Commerce of the People's Republic of China, Zhong Shan, and from the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU) – by the Member of the EEC Board– Minister in charge of Trade Veronika Nikishina, head of the negotiating delegation of the EAEU.

Argentina is ready to develop a dialogue with the Eurasian Economic Commission
The issues of economic cooperation of the countries of the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU) with Argentina were discussed by the Chairman of the Board of the Eurasian Economic Commission (EEC), Tigran Sargsyan, and the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Argentina to the Russian Federation, Ricardo Lagorio, during the working meeting on September 27. Tigran Sargsyan noted the importance of signing the Memorandum of Understanding and Trade and Economic Cooperation between the EAEU and Argentina. In addition, an important area of the Commission's activity in the Latin American region should be the development of an effective dialogue with MERCOSUR, an integration association, of which Argentina is a member.

Results of the EEC Board: the definition of an authorized economic operator will get new content, decisions are made in the field of customs regulation and competition protection in the EAEU
The issue of violation of competition rules in the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU) was considered at the session of the Board of the Eurasian Economic Commission (EEC) on September 26. It was recognized that during the period from January 1, 2015 to June 30, 2016 PJSC Novolipetsk Steel (NLMK) and LLC VIZ-Stal abused the dominant position in the electrotechnical anisotropic steel segment, in a differentiated way giving unequal conditions to buyers from the Union countries. Enterprises and two executives are fined. This is the first decision in the EEC practice protecting consumers' rights and freedom of competition in the EAEU.

About 70% of proposals from business were included in the regulatory documents of the EAEU for medicines
The development of a common market of medicines in the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU), launched in May this year, and the provision of safe, effective and high-quality medicines to the citizens of the Union countries requires synchronization of activities of national pharmaceutical companies and effective communication policies at all levels. According to Oksana Plashkova, the Deputy Director of the Technical Regulation and Accreditation Department of the Eurasian Economic Commission (EEC), organization of interaction of business with regulatory and supervisory authorities is of particular importance. "About 70% of the proposals from the representatives of the pharmaceutical community to the Commission were included in the regulations that govern the common market of medicines of the EAEU", Oksana Plashkova emphasised.

The EEC proposes to create a Eurasian platform for solving problems of competition protection in the context of the digital economy
To effectively protect competition in the digital economy, a constant exchange of decisions on cases of violation of general competition rules, the results of market research and scientific research is required. This was stated by the Member of the Board - Minister in charge of Competition and Antitrust Regulation of the Eurasian Economic Commission (EEC), Marat Kusainov, speaking at the expanded session of the Board of the Federal Antitrust Service at the international event "Week of Competition in Russia". According to Marat Kusainov, digital economy markets have a global nature, therefore the investigation and suppression of anti-competitive practices is possible only based on international cooperation of the antitrust authorities.

The EEC is developing new measures to support Eurasian industrialists
According to the results of the first half of 2017, exports of manufacturing products of the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU) increased by 29% compared to the same period in 2016. To preserve this dynamic and deepen the industrial cooperation of the Union countries in the production of competitive export-oriented goods, the Eurasian Economic Commission (EEC) is developing a draft recommendation to the EAEU Member States on measures to promote the priority co-products to the markets of third countries. One such measure is compensation to manufacturers of co-products of a part of the costs related to their transportation and certification. The draft document was approved at the session of the Advisory Committee for Industry on September 19.

The EEC consolidates efforts for sustainable development of poultry industry in the EAEU
Thanks to the introduction of modern industrial technologies, the production of poultry meat in the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU) increased by 27% from 2012 to 2016, the self-sufficiency of the EAEU countries with poultry meat reached 96%. The initiatives contained in the "List of Measures for Sustainable Development of Poultry Industry" will help ensure the competitiveness of the industry in the world market. The document, which development was initiated by the Eurasian Economic Commission (EEC), provides for such support measures as localization of the production of resources and equipment for poultry industry and creation of a complete production cycle within the EAEU.

2.63% of the EAEU GDP can be saved by 2025 by eliminating legal barriers in the process of implementing the digital agenda of the Union
According to the World Bank, the level of savings only by eliminating legal barriers in the implementation of the digital agenda of the EAEU can potentially reach 2.63% of the GDP by 2025. What pilot initiatives are expected to be worked out within the framework of the implementation of the digital agenda of the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU) up to 2025 were discussed at the session of the high-level working group headed by the Chairman of the Board of the Eurasian Economic Commission (EEC), Tigran Sargsyan, held at the EEC headquarters in Moscow.
