Mikhail Vasilyevich Cherekaev was born on October 20, 1981. He graduated from the Russian Foreign Trade Academy of the Ministry of Economic Development and Trade of the Russian Federation, specialty "Economist with Foreign Language Skills".
From 2003 to 2014, he worked at the Ministry of Economic Development of the Russian Federation, where he rose through the ranks from Specialist, I category to Head of Department. He addressed the issues of tariff regulation, state regulation of foreign trade activities and was involved in trade negotiations, including on accession to the WTO.
In 2014-2016, he was Deputy Director for Trade Policy at the Autonomous Non-Profit Organization "Information and Analytical Center for Foreign Trade".
Since 2016, he has held various positions in the Government Office of the Russian Federation. He coordinated implementing the International Cooperation and Exports national project.
He was awarded Ph.D. in Economics.
